Dr. Craig Butz, Principal of Pepin Academies Hillsborough County and Celeste Kellar, Principal of Pepin Academies Pasco County were our guests.  The Pepin Academies are tuition free public charter schools dedicated to students with learning disabilities and learning related disabilities.

Jamie Lynn Santillo, Public Relations Specialist is our guest.  Jamie has worked with Shriners for 11 years.  She has Muscular Distrophy and was a Shriners patient when she 2 yrs old. She has had 7 surgeries, including Spinal Fusion Surgery.

Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa is located adjacent to the campus of University of South Florida. The hospital provides care for a wide range of pediatric orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal conditions in an environment designed to put children at ease.

Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa is celebrating their 30th Anniversary. There are two upcoming events:  The 12th Annual Leigh Dittman Charity Shriners Event and the 30th Anniversary Celebration.

Ms. Wheelchair America 2014, Jennifer Lynn Adams was on the show. Jennifer was born with partial limbs and throughout her life she has struggled with the limitations that come with her extra-ability. She does not consider her struggles a burden, but instead a gift, for she has had the privilege to learn that beyond our limitations is fulfillment and life’s purpose. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Vocal Performance from Pacific Lutheran University, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling from Faith Evangelical Seminary, along with a Certification in Applied Technology in Radio Broadcasting.

This week’s show will feature Nicole Johnson, DrPH, MPH, MA a former
Miss America and the Executive Director of Bringing Science Home at the
University of South Florida.  The project investigates the connection between chronic disease, family dynamics, and optimistic living.

Nicole was with her service dog Lucy.  She is trained to monitor Nicole’s
blood sugar levels. Lucy will alert Nicole if there is a problem.

We were also delighted to welcome News Channel 8 WFLA Morning News Anchor, Gayle Guyardo, who joined us for the interview.
